BROCHURE TIPS & IDEAS

You’ve decided that you want to compliment your stationery with a brochure but you do not know where to start? Well here is a good place to start. Read on to find out about some of the things you need to produce an effective brochure.

Purpose

What do you want the brochure to do? Do you want the brochure to sell your products? Inform your prospect about the services and products you offer? Conduct a customer satisfaction survey? Educate your customer about a product already on the market? We recommend dedicating one brochure at a time to the goal you have in mind. This will allow you to thoroughly focus on that one goal instead of cramming everything into one brochure.  Some companies have a special brochure for each product they offer.

Distribution

How will you distribute the brochure to your prospect/customer? Will you use your brochures as self-mailers? Are you mailing them out in regular business envelopes? Are you displaying them on a rack? These questions are important because they will help you to determine the most appropriate size and paper stock you will need.

Content

After you have decided on the brochure specifications you are now ready to write the copy (content) for your brochure. Your copy is the most important part of the brochure because it is that which will sell your company for you when you are not there to present the information. When writing copy please bear in mind the size of your brochure. If you will be printing on 8.5 by 11 paper, space will be very limited so you will have to focus on the key points. Try to stay away from long sentences. Use short clear sentences instead. Use bullets and lists wherever possible as they help to break up the copy and allow the reader to identify the key points.
